Vietnamese traditional Wedding ceremony comes to Winsted Ct!

What a day!! With 2 ceremony's and an early start on Saturday June 6th, Kevin and I didn't get home until well after midnight... needless to say there are a TON of AMAZING images from Nhu & Justin's double wedding. It was really difficult for me to narrow down in my top category. We had the first Wedding ceremony in Winsted Ct at Nhu's family home and then had the 2nd at the River View in Simsbury which was amazing my first time at that venue and highly recommend it to anyone.
Nhu was probably one of the happiest brides I have ever seen in my entire career as a wedding photographer, she had a huge smile planted on her face the whole day (except for the vows) which I also might add were INCREDIBLE! I think everyone that was at the ceremony, (the 2nd ceremony) had a tear or two rolling down their cheeks.

Married: Melinda & Ryan

Last Saturday (May 23erd) Melinda & Ryan were married at Saybrook Point Inn (one of my favorite venues). It was a beautiful day and Melinda was absolutely stunning and one of the most laid back relaxed brides I have ever worked with which made for some amazing images.
Ashley (my new associate) did such a great job shooting this wedding and I can't wait to shoot another wedding together, thanks Ash!

Chelsea & Tony: Engaged!!

I simply LOVE how this session turned out.
We did this shoot at Trinity College in Hartford which I had never been to before and is actually only 5 minutes from my house! Tony grew up in the neighborhood as a child and used to hang out on campus wth his pals.
It was so much fun shooting in a new location and all the older buildings and architecture made for some great images, not to mention a smoking couple with great smiles who totally understood my creative sense of style. Thanks guys for making this session fun and it was awesome getting to know you two!

Heidi & Joe: Engagement session

Meet Heidi and Joe to be married August 29th of this year!
I had a blast shooting these two this past weekend. We got a few on Joe's Harley and I also got a few shots of Heidi's dog Duke who was such a beautiful dog.
We cruised around their yard and then went to Mill Woods Falls here in Newington just down the street from our studio.
Can't wait for the wedding guys and enjoy a few of my favorites from the session!





Duke is a Weimaraner which i have learned to love this particular breed!

Pat & Paul: African flair wedding!

April 18th Pat & Paul were married at Maneleey's in Windsor Ct and what a reception it was! With over 850 guests it was by far the biggest wedding I have ever seen.
Everything was of the chart spectacular especially the lighting.
I had the pleasure of working with Rob and his team from Correlation productions and I'm pretty sure they brought every piece of lighting equipment from the warehouse.
The bride got her dress from Kleinfelds in New york and changed into a beautiful evening gown halfway through the reception along with the entire bridal party.
Pat and all the ladies choreographed a dance just for the boys which was a surprise when they all walked to the dance floor after dinner in the new dresses.

Amy & Dan 04-11-09

Congratulations Amy and Dan!
This couple quickly became good friends of mine (and Dean) the day they booked us to shoot their wedding.
A Cinderella themed wedding with Pink Gerber daisy's was still as beautiful as imagined despite the rain which made the day more whimsical and romantic in my opinion.

Getting to know Meghan & Joshua! (Engagement session)

Last week Meghan & Josh met me at the studio for their engagement session.
I had a few ideas and concepts in mind and they totally went with it trusting my enthusiasm and creative sense of a new fresh approach. We started shooting in Newington at the local bicycle store and tried out some really cute his and hers matching bikes which went perfect with their outfits. Right next door was Carvel ice cream... YUM! They got a cone and we continued to shoot.
Down the street a bit from my studio is this really old vintage looking truck that I have photographed before so we stopped there before heading to Hartford which we waled up Pratt st and then over to Trumbull Kitchen one of my favorite places to grab a bite in town.

Joshua is in the Marine Reserves and will be getting deployed May 1st.
He'll be back February of next year but we wanted to get this session done before he left even tho their wedding date isn't until July 3rd of 2010.

Meghan & Josh hired me to be their wedding photographer because they both could see themselves on their wedding day in the images I showed them from previous events when we first met.
I tend to create these moments in the getting to know you shoots and let each couple feel comfortable behind the lens before their wedding day. These photo sessions are important to have and recommend any couple getting married in the future to have this experience with the photographer they plan on booking for their event.
